Parking
options at The Buchan Hotel
The
hotel does not have any parking available for guests.
There are, however, several pay parking lots nearby as
well as limited free street parking.
Caution:
Do not park at the Community Center at Denman and Haro
St. due to high risk of car thefts.
FREE
STREET PARKING
On
the opposite side of the street in front the hotel and
on many other streets in the neighbourhood there is free
street parking. This parking is marked by the 2hr
parking signs on the street and is only available for 2
hours at a time during the day. After 2 hours, the car
must be moved to a different spot. Do not use the same
parking spot twice in one day or you may receive a
parking ticket. The 2 hour limit is not enforced during
the evenings and overnight so you may leave your car in
these areas from 8pm to 9am in the morning. By using the
2 free hours on top of this, you may legally park from
6pm until 11am for free.
Caution:
Do not park in the Permit Parking Only areas. Only park
between the signs displaying '2hr' and 'P' within a
green circle. Also note the arrows on the sign
indicating where this free parking is available. If you
are not parked legally for any length of time, a parking
ticket may be issued or your car may be towed.
SAFEWAY
PAY PARKING
The
parking lot is at the corner of Robson Street and Denman
Street. This lot charges $2 per hour or $8 for a full
day ticket (6am-6pm). After 6pm, there is a flat rate of
$5, valid only until 6am the following morning. At this
point it is necessary to buy another ticket. Over-height
vehicles are accepted.
COAST
PLAZA HOTEL PAY PARKING
Entrance
to the underground lot is on Comox Street. This is a
secured parking lot with an attendant on duty. This
means you get a ticket when you enter the lot and pay
when you leave. No over-height vehicles (minivans are
ok). This lot charges $3.50 per hour, $10 per evening
(6pm to 6am), and $12 per day (6am-6pm). If you prefer
to have 24-hour in & out privilege parking, you will
need to purchase a ticket for $22 in advance.
